Like all businessmen, I'm looking for a return on my investment. As a businessman, I have responsibilities and commitments I must be accountable for. As a businessman, I parlayed AN IDEA into a multi-million dollar deal, and have waited over three and a half years (I know how Ali felt having to wait that long!) to find out what to tell those to whom I told a deal was imminent.

As an urban entrepreneur, my starting point was "less than zero." As an urban entrepreneur, I fought past the hurdle of under capitalization. As an urban entrepreneur, I've paid more dues than I ever expected in my quest to "make it." As an urban entrepreneur, I've "made it" to the point of being SHOCKED that America's Leading Urban Entrepreneur would rather "hide instead of help."

In the Black Enterprise story, Magic Johnson conveyed that he's in complete control of his company. But I'm very confused as to WHO is really in control. Magic or Earvin? I know it sounds crazy, but after all of the MAGIC JOHNSON, L.A. LAKERS, #32, 17th ALL-TIME GREATEST ATHLETE STUFF I've been exposed to (and am a fan of), that's not who I met. I met EARVIN that day in 1996, and have been dealing with MAGIC ever since. And "dealing with Magic" means dealing with EVERYONE BUT Earvin! The sincerity in his handshake, eyes, and voice were UNFORGETTABLE! In fact, I'm convinced that if Earvin Johnson was in control of Magic Johnson Enterprises, I would never need to challenge him.
